The
American Solar Energy Society's
National
Solar Tour 2008
comes
to Louisiana October 4
RECAP
The National Solar
Tour of Homes came to Louisiana this past Saturday, October 4. LSES was
the Louisiana host for homes and businesses across the state. We had homes
open in Baton Rouge, Opelousas, Covington, Abita Springs, New Orleans, and
Lafayette. There were three businesses on the tour; Dryades YMCA in New
Orleans, The Island Country Club in Plaquemine, and St. Margaret Catholic School
in Lake Charles. People from across the state came to these homes and
businesses to see how solar works for real people in real places, and to learn
more about solar energy and how it can help improve our environment, lower
utility bills, and so much more!
Overall, the majority of people that came out were very interested in ways they can be more energy efficient to improve the quality of
life, and to use what was given to us for free, the SUN!
We all had a great time and are very thankful to everyone that opened their
doors to other curious solar enthusiasts. We also thank everyone that made
the time to come out to these homes and businesses!
If you weren't able to make the tour, LSES will be holding a spring tour for
everyone that missed this tour. For more information you can email us at
info@lses.org.
