The Ussery Home

Type of System: This home features a 2.2 kilo-watt grid-tied system with twelve 187-watt Sharp modules and a Fronius 3000-watt inverter.

Baton Rouge

The Shaw Home

The Shaw home is situated in a residential neighborhood near the LSU campus.   The home includes the addition of a photovoltaic system.  Four 120-watt Solarex panels and four SolarWorld 175-watt panels charge the four gel-sealed batteries which are connected to a 3000-watt Outback SmartRE inverter.  This provides uninterruptible 120/240 volts of AC power to several rooms in the home.  The outdoor SmartRE unit is located in the greenhouse and the modules are pole and roof mounted.

Gulf South Solar is located in Baton Rouge off of College Drive.  This solar company's office has a 400-watt grid-tied with battery backup photovoltaic system with a 3000-watt Outback inverter.  The backup system provides 8 kilo-watt hours of battery reserve power.

Type of System: This 1 kilo-watt grid-tied system was implemented by Thomas Breaux of Lake Charles as part of the requirements to achieve Eagle Scout. He designed this system for his former science teacher at St. Margaret, Judy Reeves, to provide solar power for her classroom.
