18th Annual Baton Rouge Earth Day -
April 20, 2008
This years Earth Day for Baton Rouge was held on
Sunday, April 20, 2008 downtown, and it was LSES 8th Earth Day!
LSES was located in front of the Shaw Center on
North Blvd., instead of our regular place which is usually in front of the
Entergy building. We brought tons of helpful information out to the booth
to educate the community and promote solar energy to everyone interested in it.
We even had a solar powered water fountain to show exactly what solar energy can
do.
LSES was also a part of LSU Earth Day which
was held on Friday, April 18 on the Parade Grounds on campus. LSES was set
up next to the stage with all the information about solar energy, and Gulf South
Solar helped with powering the stage where local BR bands performed. It
was a great day until the rain came and ended it a little shorter than planned.
Let me know by email if you know of any other
Earth Day events happening in Louisiana or have any suggestions for a fun Solar Earth Day.
