LSES Monthly Meeting- Monday, May 4, 2009

The LSES monthly meeting held in Baton Rouge was this past Monday, May 4.  The topic of conversation were the four new house bills; HB303, HB550, HB547, and HB850, and three senate bills; SB91, SB92, and SB224. 

Each bill was discussed with everyone in attendance.  We were able to give the positives and negatives of each bill, and figure out which ones seemed the most practical. 

We also decided to form a coalition and get LSES members and non members alike to read each bill, form a decisive opinion about each, and pick one or maybe two that LSES should stand behind, and on Lobby Day (May 26), LSES will speak on behalf of everyone in support of their decision.  We will be updating all LSES members about the progress of the bills.

We covered a lot of ground and are excited on the progress we have made.

If you weren't able to make the meeting, this topic is a hot topic right now in the Louisiana solar world so we will probably covering in part of our next meeting!
