The LSES Spring Solar Tour-April 25, 2009
RECAP

The Louisiana Solar Energy Society held its 1st annual Spring Solar Tour this past Saturday!  The tour was similar to the National Solar Tour of Homes held every year in October by the American Solar Energy Society, which LSES is the Louisiana hosts. 

The tour was statewide, free, and open to the public.  The tour was held enlight of our recent economic downturn to show how solar is and will be a leading renewable energy for America.  The tour shows how solar homeowners and businesses are reaping the benefits of solar by lowering their electricity bill, while improving the economy and environment. 

A big topic of discussion at some of the locations were the tax credits, which is another benefit of "going solar."  The attendees were thrilled to hear they can put solar on their home and receive a refund from the state for half of their system!  Along with a federal incentive of 30% back with NO cap! 

There were homes and businesses on the tour in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Luling, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and W. Monroe.

We want to thank everyone that was on the tour for taking the time on a Saturday, and opening their home or business to curious participants wanting to learn more about solar!
