The Louisiana Solar
Energy Society is an
educational organization formed to promote the
use of solar energy and to share information
on the subject between its members and the
public.
The International Astronomy Day was
this past weekend, Saturday May 2, and LSES was there promoting the sun and all
the great benefits we get from using the sun's energy. The kids who came
out were able to see first hand how the sun is used to power a water fountain!
Other people were interested in how
solar can power your appliances and run your home when there is a power outage.
But there was some hesitation because of the cost of solar, but after we told
them of the generous tax credits we can receive then they were even more
interested in solar!
To see more about the day and the
other groups that came out to celebrate our sky and beyond you can go to the
Highland Road Park Observatory's website at

We want to thank our volunteers that
came out and helped us promote solar, thanks Jennifer Thompson and Cameron Faxon!
